Ioni Lewis

General Committee Member

Professor Ioni Lewis is a Principal Research Fellow at the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) at QUT. She has over 20 years' experience in the field of traffic psychology and injury prevention. Ioni's expertise is in the field of behaviour change strategies focusing on the design and evaluation of initiatives including education programs and advertising campaigns. She has applied her expertise not only to various road safety topics including, for example, speeding and child pedestrian safety but also in relation to injury prevention topics more broadly including, for example, electrical safety.

Ioni will bring her experience to the Executive with a focus on road safety as a key area of injury prevention. Ioni’s experience also includes her being a long-standing member of the Australasian College of Road Safey (ACRS) and her having been on several scientific and organising committees for conferences including the Australasian Road Safety Conference as well as the Health Communication Advertising and Marketing (HealthCAM) Symposium. Ioni is also a current and longstanding member of the Consumer Product Injury Research Advisory Group (CPIRAG) and sits on the Queensland Government’s Electrical Safety Education Committee.
