Position Statements
The Australasian Injury Prevention Network has developed statements on key injury issues, populations impacted by injury and issues driven by our membership.
Our position papers outline key data related to injury in Australia and New Zealand, links to related resources as well as our recommendations for action.
This position statement aims to address the prevention of unintentional overdoses in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Overdose occurs when there is more of a drug in the body than can be tolerated, leading to injury or death.
Globally falls are the second highest cause of unintentional injury deaths, making it a significant public health problem.
